If you fancy a relaxing evening over a glass of wine and a hearty meal, I may have found just the place.

Curtain’s Up is a pub tucked between West Kensington and Baron’s Court tube station and it’s the perfect place to wander down to after a long days’ work… especially if you live in the area.

I popped down there last week and had a really nice meal of Smoked Salmon Blinis with a Lemon wedge, followed by a Rib-Eye steak with onion rings, hand cut chips, tomato, mushrooms and béarnaise sauce . The food was fab and my companion (who had the soup and special Lamb dish) was a big fan of the pub… especially the Geronimo Inn Special Pale Ale (which was apparently so popular during its limited period of availablity that Curtain’s Up decided to keep it on tap).

Couple a good meal with some lovely wine and a good atmosphere and you’ve got a good thing going. The only thing I would say is that on a busy night, this probably isn’t the place to go if you wanted a quiet meal as it gets quite busy. However this is no bad thing if you fancy a social bite to eat out with friends.

Another thing to note is that they have a small theatre downstairs so you could even head down and catch a quick play if you fancied it!
