Gilgamesh Gets Spicy

Pan-Asian restaurant Gilgamesh has turned up the heat in the kitchen and created an explosive menu using a selection of the world’s hottest chillies.

Executive chef, Ian Pengelley, has brought the Naga, the Scotch Bonnet and the Trinidad Scorpion Chilli (the worlds hottest chilli and 400 times hotter than Tabasco sauce) to his Camden kitchen. Daring diners can sample the chillies in four dishes, priced between £6 – £16 – green mango and papaya salad with chilli nahm jihm, stir-fried cashew nuts and chicken with dried red chilli and holy basil, and Ian has perfected a fiery chilli paste for the monkfish and physalias (cape gooseberries) jungle curry, a Thai speciality. For dessert a chilli berry sorbet.

If you want to try any of the explosive dishes you will have to sign a disclaimer before ordering – good luck people!
