Benitos Hat Mexican Kitchen is a modern burrito and taqueria restaurant, with two sites in London, Goodge Street and New Row. The principle is delicious, healthy, fresh Mexican food that combines local produce from farms as close as Bedfordshire with the unique flavours of
chipotle chilies, bright green tomatillos and soft, pillowy flour tortillas from Mexico.

This year they have introduced the rather delicious Lamb Barbacoa, which is a traditional slow cooked Mexican lamb dish. The lamb, which is covered in water and salt and wrapped in avocado leaves, is cooked on a limestone slab that sits above a dug out hole in the ground, which is filled with hot coals. The whole lot is then covered in soil and the meat is cooked for about four hours.

The lamb is served either in a burrito or traditional open tacos. I went for the lamb burrito with black beans, hot sauce and salad. Washed down with a couple of Modelo Especial lagers it was delicious, I would highly recommend it!
