Regent Street: The Ultimate London Shopping Destination

I may be a little biased but of all the international fashion capitals London is untouchable when it comes to shopping.

New York might be full of thrift stores and hot-dog stands, Milan bountiful with designer-brands and the most glossy and groomed retail assistants and Paris the home of cafe culture and Haute Couture. but London is where high-end sits comfortably alongside the very best of high-street to create the most all-inclusive, for-all-intents-and-purposes shopping experiences.

Each London borough is home to its own unique, shopping destination. Knightsbridge plays host to Harrods, Shoreditch to unique, retro stores and Mayfair to the fashion-forward boutiques. But Regent Street is where they all meet.

The sweeping street, which runs from Oxford Circus all the way down to Piccadilly, boasts London’s flagship Nike, Topshop, H&M and Zara stores as well as newcomer & Other Stories (my new fashion fix go-to), Anthropolgie (for the most covetable fashion, home and accessories finds), Apple (for the sleekest tech buys) and Burberry (quintessential British fashion at its best).

Don’t be fooled by its W1 location. Regent Street is surprisingly calm compared to its Oxford Street neighbour, immaculately clean, and thanks to the wide streets and over-sized stores, no-where near as frenetic an experience. And despite it’s tourist-trap locale, there are a whole host of delicious, reasonably-priced places to pop in for a quick bite (Tibbit’s), healthy lunch (Whole Foods) or leisurely and luxurious dinner (Brasserie Zedel, Aqua London or Gaucho).

And now, to make your shopping trips a little more exciting and a little less overwhelming, Regent Street has launched its very first interactive social hub, Regent Street 24/7. The constantly updating home page showcases all social media activity – take a peek at shopper’s recent Regent Street purchases, what they’ve been checking out, the Regent Street Instagram food porn pics, plus be the first to find out in real time, using hashtags, the latest launches, seasonal in-store fashion drops and customer events. Or simply get involved in the Regents Street Community chats.
