Chocolatey Flapjacks

Chocolatey Flapjacks

Flapjacks are a great lunch box treat for adults and kids and these are light and delicious portion into little bite size pieces for easy consumption!

You will need a 9’’ square cake tin

Ingredients:
250g butter
70g golden syrup
70g honey
110g brown sugar
300ml orange juice
4 yolks
550g oats
1 teaspoon baking powder

Place the mixture in the tray and level out

For the topping:
350g dark chocolate
sesame seeds

Preparation:
Pre heat the oven to gas 5 / 200˚C

Melt the butter, golden syrup and honey.

Take it off the heat and add the orange juice followed by the egg yolks.

Now add the oats and the baking powder.

Pour the melting chocolate over the tray and follow with seasame seeds

Tip it into your tin and flatten the top.

Bake for 20 minutes until it sets and is slightly golden on top.

Once cooked leave it to cool and then you can melt your chocolate which then gets spread on top and then sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Once this has set it is easier to remove it if you freeze it, so just pop it in the freezer for 1 hour then turn out and portion up.
