I think these will make such a thoughtful gift for that hot guy/gal in your life, they are all cake and I challenge anybody who has a sweet tooth not to be bowled over by your sweet lovely present! Definitely the best way to someone’s heart…

Recipe:
Makes 12 cupcakes

What you'll need for the Redvelvet mixture

What you'll need for the Redvelvet mixture

90g unsalted butter
200g caster sugar
2 medium eggs
180g buttermilk
200g plain flour
1 teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoon white wine vinegar
20g cocoa
½ teaspoon red food colour
½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation:
Firstly line your muffin tin with cases of your choice and pre-heat the oven to 180˚C / Gas Mark 4.

Cream the butter and sugar for 5 minutes until light and fluffy and then add the eggs and beat well.

Add the red colouring and vanilla to the mixture and beat in.

Mix the flour, salt and cocoa together and beat 1/3 in, followed by 1/3 of the butter milk. Repeat this process two more times.

Spoon into your cases and bake

Now add the baking soda and vinegar and watch as the mixture reacts and bubbles.

Beat it all in and spoon into your cases.

Cooking:
Bake for 30 minutes or until cooked through.

Leave to cool in the cases
