Looking for the ultimate fitness inspiration? Want to cheer on thousands of runners who, while showing their physical endurance, are simultaneously raising funds for NSPCC and the ChildLine service? Then the Virgin Money London Marathon is the event for you. A spring spectacle every year, this 26.2 mile race offers plenty of places for spectators to cheer on their favorite runners.
Starting in Greenwich, this location is a great place to begin your race viewing. If you want to get in the middle of the action, go for Mile 13 and 22 around Whitechapel, a spot where the course doubles back on itself so you get twice the marathon action. Complete your viewing experience at the finish line near Charing Cross rail or Embankment tube station, where well known establishments like Gordon’s Wine Bar will welcome runners and viewers alike.
The London Marathon Sunday April 24th 2016, with the start time for the mass race starts at 10:10 from Blackheath and Greenwich Park. The marathon website offers in depth options on where to watch all the way along the course, as well as a Live Tracking Page to follow your favorite runners, how convenient!
