There are three films we think you should head out and see this week as they’re all out tomorrow. There’s an uplifting sporty number from Brad Pitt, a fab tale from the life of Marylin Monroe and a heartfelt comedy from Seth Rogan. Read on to find out about each film.

Moneyball

We’ve been looking forward to this film since we first heard about it and can’t wait to catch it at the cinema. It’s all about Billy Beane (Brad Pitt), the general manager of Oakland Athletics, who revolutionises his team Baseball team by hiring an Ivy League economics specialist who knows how to subvert the system of accessing players that have been in place for nearly a century. But as Bean and his “accomplish” starts hiring injured aged players they face resistance from the team’s long time manager Art Howe.

If you love a feel good drama this is just the one for you.

My Week With Marilyn

This film looks amazing and has got rave reviews from the critics. It stars Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe during her brief stay in England as she filmed The Prince and the Showgirl and revolves around the love affair between her and a young Colin Clark (Eddie Redmayne). However drama ensues as she hasn’t come alone and is actually on a honeymoon with her husband. However when he leaves Clark and Monroe develops a special connection and the drama begins when Marilyn’s true colours start to show.

Seth Rogen and Joseph Gorden-Levitt in 50/50

It looks brilliant and Williams is a spitting image of the star.

50/50

This heartfelt comedy is actually set on the writers’ lives (Seth Rogan and Will Reiser) and how they changed when Reiser was diagnosed with cancer.  Seth Rogan also stars in the film and acts alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt (who plays the character based on Reiser).

It looks brilliant and is another film that has gained rave reviews.

Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill on the cover of New York Magazine

Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill have been snapped together for the cover of New York Magazine and yes you might wonder, who the hell is that standing behind Brad? Jonah Hill has lost a shed load of weight and doesn’t need to play the comedy actor card any more, he stands proud in a sharp suit.

The two were featured to promote their new film, Moneyball (based on Michael Lewis’s 2003 book focused on the Oakland A baseball team’s general manager, Billy Beane) and Brad Pitt looking good without the beard, let’s hope that’s over now,alongside Jonah Hill who we’re just not sure we like this size, what do you think, bit creepy..?

Brad was also interviewed with the magazine and chatted a bit about the film: ‘I saw it as a story about justice,’ he tells the magazine. ‘How is a team with a $40 million payroll going to compete with a team with a $140 million payroll and another $100 million in reserves?

Brad Pitt

Though it does go against his family’s usual scheduling, Brad Pitt seems to have actually agreed to take up a role straight after filming his new zombie flick, World War Z (which he is currently filming in the UK).

Brad Pitt has been heavily rumoured to star in the action movie The Gray Man, an adaptation of  Mark Greaney’s thriller novel whereby Pitt would feature as a CIA operative-turned-assassin (despite the studio and actors reps denied the Moneyball star was doing it previously).

The question has always been over timing as Pitt and partner Angelina Jolie don’t ever work at the same time. They tend to rotate – Jolie recently directed In the Land of Blood and Honey, and now Pitt is starring in World War Z etc etc.

Rumours are that Jolie has been seriously eyeing the Disney film Maleficent, however the film needs a director. If she took up this opportunity, then Brad’s confirmation to star in The Gray Man (which will begin production in January or February next year) might just throw up some family problems… and with six children, that’s not a family row I’d like to witness!

Jessica Chastain and Brad Pitt in The Tree Of Life

There’s only one film we’re giving a nod to this week and rightly so as it’s a truly great one.

The Tree Of Life stars Brad Pitt, Sean Penn and Jessica Chastain as characters in this story that centres around a family with three boys in the 1950s.

Jack (Sean Penn stars as an older Jack and Hunter McCracken features as the character when he’s younger) is brought up by a domineering father (Brad Pitt) and a loving mother who gives him hope in life. When his two younger brothers are born, he is forced to share his mother’s (Jessica Chastain) unconditional love and deal with his obsessed father.

The film is out in cinemas from 8th July 2011.

Brangelina at Premiere for Salt

We haven’t seen these two together on the red carpet for a while but we’re so glad they’re back, looking great and beardless (at last Brad).

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie hit the red carpet for the highly anticipated premiere of Ange’s new film, Salt. She looked gorgeous (if not a tad skinny) in a black, sequined LBD from Emporio Armani and stunning nude Ferragamo heels. Brad went equally slick in a smart 3-piece suit from Tom Ford. VERY nice indeed.

Salt is out in the UK on 20th August.

Brad and Angelina

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, aka the infamous Brangelina, are reported to finally be getting married.

Apparently the couple – who have been together since meeting on the set of ‘Mr. And Mrs. Smith’ in 2005 – have finally given into the pleas of their older children, Maddox, eight, Pax, six, Zahara, five, and three-year-old Shiloh and agreed to tie the knot.

A source close to the couple – who also have 22-month-old twins Knox and Vivienne – told America’s OK! magazine: “First it was Maddox, who has begged his parents to tie the knot for years. Lately, Shiloh and Zahara have been chiming in, and Pax thinks it would just be the coolest thing ever to be a ring bearer.”

Angelina, 34, has previously admitted she and 46-year-old Brad are expecting the children to eventually start questioning why they had never got married… and to be honest they’re not the only ones!

She said: “Usually people fall in love and everything revolves around the ritual of marriage, children are an afterthought. We did everything backwards.”

We’re not holding our breath. As far as we can tell the loving marriage of the pair is as likely as Jen getting offered the position of bridesmaid.
