The highlight – actually, I’ll correct that, as the whole place was simply so fab – ONE of the highlights, was the breakfast. Forget a few stale croissants and a cooked breakfast you’d have to mortgage your house for. As well as the hot option, which comprised everything from mushrooms to tomatoes to beans and bacon, there were endless oven-fresh pastries along with endless types of fruit. The drinks consisted of around ten types of tea and a huge range of fruit juices and smoothies. The breakfast room was huge, with bright, colourful seating and funky tables.
Although we didn’t get to dine there, the hotel’s restaurant and bar, SmoodS, looked just as fab. Comprising seven areas all decorated differently – choose from bazaar, bling bling, flower power, the library, passion, safari and spring – there’s live music most nights and a cocktail menu that rivalled the offerings of many London bars.
I’d never heard of Bloom! before my trip to Bruges, but it’s certainly a brand I hope to see more of in the future. I’ll definitely be making a return visit, and if you’re ever in Brussels, I’d definitely recommend a visit. In fact, even if you’re not planning a visit to Brussels, I’d arrange one, just to stay at this gorgeous hotel.
