Brown's Hotel

Brown’s Hotel London

I was a little slow on the uptake with Christmas this year. I generally get rather excitable and have been known to long for the smell of a real Christmas tree, and the glitter of soft gold fairy lights from as early as October. This year, it took its time. I don’t know why, I don’t know how, but even as late as the latter half of November I was begrudging Christmas decorations in shop windows and throwing a silent (and sometimes not so silent) little tantrum whenever any radio DJ dared to let the gorgeous Mariah Carey wail about what she wanted for Christmas, or George Michael wail about what he had given some heartbreaker for Christmas.

Luckily for me, and everyone that has to live with me, I got on board with the whole festive shebang as soon as we hit December. It was like magic. Once the first advent calendar window had been opened, I was there. I decided to celebrate in exactly the manner that a beauty journo should. With a luxury Christmas manicure at Brown’s Hotel.

For a start, Brown’s Hotel is the epitome of Christmas class. Tastefully decorated, and glowing with the soft lighting that gleams from the windows as you approach. This Christmas Brown’s Hotel are offering the luxurious Merry Berry Manicure, which uses festive ingredients including orange, clove, juniper berry and cinnamon, in each stage of the manicure to nourish skin and relax with their aromatic properties.

 Ciaté New Mistletoe Trio (£27.00)

The priority of Brown’s Hotel is noticeably the guest’s comfort. Instead of sitting at a table for my manicure, I was invited to recline back onto a salon bed and indulge in a glass of mulled wine. Sophie, my wonderful therapist for the evening set about my manicure, swapping from one side of the bed to the other as she worked on each hand, ensuring I didn’t have to move an inch. The Merry Berry Manicure is comprised of a gentle exfoliation of each hand, a hand massage with the festive infused oil, a paraffin wax treatment and the manicure itself using the ever wonderful Ciaté products. Each stage was carried out with care and attention to detail, and the manicure itself was one of the best I have had in a long while. There were a few times that I could have fallen asleep, but I had to attend to my mulled wine. Priorities, you know.

I sashayed out of the hotel with yuletide spring in my step and a glossy manicure to boot. A truly wonderful experience, and one that is sure to add a little luxury to a Christmas shopping outing in London or a weekend break in the capital. It is available until 1st February 2014, so would make a luxurious little Christmas present too. To find out more visit the Brown’s Hotel website or call 020 7518 4009.
