David Gandy says it doesn’t get “much better” in life than getting to kiss Helena Christensen in their new short film for the opening of the new W London Hotel.
The British model locks lips with the Danish supermodel in new 12-minute short film ‘Away We Stay’, in which his character Adam has a brief tryst with photographer Alex Worthington, who is portrayed by Helena.
Speaking at the premiere of short film ‘Away We Stay’ – which was commissioned by W London Hotel – in London last night (15.11.10), David admits if someone had told him when he was a teenager he would one day get to kiss Helena for his job he wouldn’t have been able to comprehend it.
The 30-year-old heartthrob told BANG Showbiz: “It’s not a bad day job to be able to kiss Helena Christensen, she is absolutely beautiful. It wasn’t bad, not bad at all.
“If someone said to me, ‘You’re going to shoot a film and kiss Helena Christensen,’ when I was 17 or 18 I would have been pleased. It doesn’t get much better really. It’s all good.”
David also insists it was great to work with the 41-year-old brunette on the project because neither of them had any prior acting experience which meant they were able to support each other on set.
He added: “It was easy to work with Helena, she’s a great person, model and photographer, so we had a lot in common in regards to that. We got on well and we’re both new to the acting business, so we worked together to help each other. That was good because it wasn’t like either of us we’re working with a fantastic actor straight away. So I thought we looked after each other really well.”
‘Away We Stay’ – which can be viewed below -was shot on location in London’s Leicester Square and was written and directed by Edoardo Ponti.
It was inspired by 1966 classic British film ‘Blow Up’ and gives the first the views available from the W London Hotel, which is due to open in February 2011.
