As first impressions go The Four Seasons, Koh Samui is unparallelled.

As you drive through the gates and up the steep hillside you are blown away by the dramatic view of the resorts villas, nestled into the hillside of Laem Yai Bay, surrounded by topical forest and coconut palms. Then you enter the wall-less, open-air, hillside reception with panoramic views of turquoise ocean and sky and you know you are somewhere completely unique. It’s simply breathtaking.
The enchanting hillside retreat prides itself on being green as well as glamorous, working in synergy with nature. All sixty villas have been built on stilts amongst the coconut, jackfruit and mango trees on the property, giving the surrounding vegetation the respect it deserves.

Watching the sunset in the hilltop restaurant Lan Tania was nothing short of spectacular. The restaurant is framed by water and its infinity-edge complements the ocean perfectly, while floating oil burners match the vibrant colours of the sunset. Every Tuesday new guests are invited to join the manager of the resort to take in this wonderful site and enjoy some complimentary canapés and wine, one of many personal touches which make this place very special.
The villas are luxurious and spacious, yet manage to emit a sense of home with their state of the art gadgets such as ipod docking stations and flat-screen TVs. You can even order a free DVD from the extensive library and be served popcorn and snacks whilst watching your movie from the comfort of your bed!

Every villa boosts its own infinity swimming pool and the outside deck hosts a daybed and its own bar. Rooms are also divided into a dressing area with double vanities leading into the bathing area, which houses the most stunning custom-made terrazzo shell-shaped bathtub.
A few minutes walk down the hill is the white sandy beach. If the word hill makes you nervous, you don’t have to walk there as you can call for a buggy which arrives within ten minutes and will take you anywhere in the resort.
