I cannot believe that 2008 is coming to a close and the Holidays will soon be upon us.  I don’t know about you but I have found it especially difficult to think up thoughtful and original gifts this year.  I don’t know why, since most years I am giddy with excitement dreaming up the perfect gift for X, Y or Z.  But this year, my gift-giving ingenuity seems to have run dry.  No one in my life—including my kids—seems to have any real want or need of anything.  So, once again I rallied the troops to give you some last-minute glorious gift suggestions for the mothers, sisters and friends in your life who seem to have everything.

The Neat-Freak Hostess-With-The-Mostess
iRobot Roomba or Scooba,
www.irobot.com, $100 – $500+

I would never have believed it but these little guys can really clean.

irobot Roomba

irobot Roomba

The Roomba (or Roby as he is now affectionately known in our household) can vacuum up to four rooms in one 45-minute cycle.  What’s more, he’s meticulous and picks up even the tiniest of crumbs.  The Roomba doesn’t even need his owner to tell him when to clean—you can program a schedule for him.   And he’ll even find his own way back to his charging dock once his cycle is over.  His buddy, the Scooba (or Scoooby), on the other hand, preps, washes, scrubs and squeegees up to four hard-surface floors in one cycle.  You would not believe the filth this guy manages to uncover—even in my no-shoes-allowed abode!  These two robots have become such a welcomed addition into our home.  The kids think they are wonderful entertainment, whilst I love being able to work, cook or bathe the kids while my floors are being cleaned.  I am absolutely certain these will become an essential item in any busy mother’s home.  And this holiday, I am far more relaxed about the 30+ people I am entertaining on Christmas Day because when the party’s over and the food’s put away, I can let these guys do the hard work so I don’t have to.  Instead, I can kick back and relax after my entertaining extravaganza.  This is such a great house gift for the busy lady in your life or the wonderful hostess wining, dining and putting you up for the holiday.  In the latter instance, I guarantee this gift equals an open invitation for many years to come.

Belli skincare, www.belliskincare.com, $6 – $52

Belli Skincare

Belli Skincare

The Belli skincare brand has grown over the past six years to add Motherhood and Baby lines to their popular Pregnancy line.  For that soon-to-be hot mama, why not indulge her a little with a selection of products from all three of the lines.  The Belli Pregnancy collection goes through a rigorous pre and postnatal screening process to eliminate even potentially harmful ingredients.  All the products are designed to deal with a specific pregnancy malady, from dry skin to swollen ankles.  During both pregnancies I religiously applied the Elasticity Belly Oil ($42) every morning and evening and was fortunate enough to not suffer from a single mark in either pregnancy despite gaining an average of 60 pounds with both. The Belli Motherhood line is formulated to help relieve the side-effects of pregnancy, which infamously include weight gain and stretch marks.  I am a huge fan of both the Body-Firming Serum ($34) and the Stretchmark Minimizing Cream  ($52).  And now, my daughter is pampered every bathtime with Belli Baby products.  I love how calming the chamomile scented Body Cream ($19) is for me, so I’m sure it must work wonders for her, too.  Not to mention I can rest assured that her delicate skin is not exposed to harsh chemicals or harmful hormones.
