Andaz West Hollywood Hotel

Andaz West Hollywood Hotel

Andaz West Hollywood, a new venture from the Hyatt brand, meaning “personal style” in Hindi, is oozing with the latest innovation in fashion and service. Andaz reopened in the beginning of this year after a fabulous renovation. The new décor is super sleek, modern, and wonderfully simple. The 257-room hotel is settled in the heart of Hollywood and has a rich history spanning the decades.

Originally known as the Hyatt House, nicknamed “Riot Hyatt,” in the 60’s and 70’s because of the hotel’s preferred accommodation for traveling rock bands. Led Zeppelin rented as many as six floors of the hotel for their entourage, and drummer John Bonham was reported to have driven his motorcycle through the halls. In room 1015, Keith Richards famously dropped a TV out of the window, Jim Morrison lived there until he was evicted, and Warren Zevon references the hotel in one of his songs. My whirlwind stay inspired me to want to return for much, much longer.

King Size Room

King Size Room

Situated in the ideal location, with a front row seat to the Sunset Strip, one of the most famous walkways in the world. There’s no waiting in line to check in, a handsome Andaz host will greet you right away and offer you a glass of wine on arrival, which makes your stay feel like it starts as soon as you walk through the door. You’ll feel just as famous as the countless stars that have stayed there before you.  Additional perks are having the swankiest and highest rooftop pool in LA, (far cooler than The Standard), complimentary WIFI, their own fine dining restaurant, RH, rooftop ballroom, and 24-hour fitness center.

Their stunning heated rooftop pool over looks the Hollywood Hills, and Leonardi Da Vinci’s pad. Relax with a poolside massage or enjoy some privacy in one of the private cabanas.  The rooms are a good size with perfect beds and sheets. We liked the Red Flower Bath products that the bathrooms are stocked with, famous for their eco-friendly and all-natural ingredients. They have paid close attention to detail and quality, we also found all the staff much more friendly than they should be with those model looks.  I would totally recommend it for a place to stay in West Hollywood, you will feel like you are absolutely in the right place at the right time.
