I’ve recovered (at last) from the whirlwind of the award season here in LA, and my shoulders can finally drop and relax.  A great win for us Brits, and it was nice to have something to celebrate as I’ve had all sorts going on with my life…like the rest of the world!

Anyways, in times like these you need a good cuppa, so I called on good aunt Angie, A.K.A  Angie McCartney, Sir Paul McCartney’s step mother who’s living out here in sunny Cal – don’t hate appreciate. At the grand age of 79 she’s bucking the economic trend and launched her own tea line called ‘Mrs Angie McCartney’s Organic Teas (www.mrsmccartneysteas.com). I dropped by hers for a cup and sympathy (I got none of the latter!) But the tea was yummy. She’s blended some amazing flavors like Rooibos, (pronounced “roy-boss”) which is an organic red tea from South Africa (darling), infused with a hint of a raspberry leaf from Yakima. Of course, though she does have the staples like Earl Grey and English Breakfast too.

Boxed in packs of 20, each tea bag is individually wrapped so you can throw it in your Gucci bag and avoid tea leaf spillage. A percentage of profits go to ‘The Linda McCartney Breast Cancer Centre’ (www.yourcentre.org), and you can order your supply of teas online and they ship all over the world like all McCartney’s do.

While I’m on things that whet your taste buds (keep your mind clean) Snack Bar (www.snackbarltd.com)  out of Philadelphia has finally opened an outfit here in Hollywood, Calif. Located at 1520 North Cahuenga Blvd 90028. A very cool cafe style restaurant offers what LA’s been crying out for, good food, good prices, urban chic décor, with attitude free staff. The ‘burger a la mar’ (cod burger styled like a crab cake) served with chunky chips and malt vinegar is the ultimate comfort food.
