Maria Sharapova's Travelling Tips

Maria Sharapova's Travelling Tips

When she’s not winning Grand Slams and training for Wimbledon, she’s travelling all over the world for tournaments and events. So it comes as no surprise then that she has picked up a few handy tips along the way. Here Maria Sharapova fills us in on the do’s and don’ts when it comes to travelling in style.

1. Maria Sharapova, Sony Ericsson’s Global Brand Ambassador and international tennis star says: “If you’re travelling by airplane, try to fit everything you need into your hand luggage.   You’ll be able to breeze past all those other passengers waiting for their luggage, beat the queue through customs and security and start your holiday straightaway instead of wasting time in the airport.”

2. “Always, always, always take out travel insurance and find a safe place to put all your travel documents when you’re on the move.  I use the travel wallet which I designed with Sony Ericsson for the Maria Sharapova Design Collection – it’s stylish and compact.”

3. “I can’t go anywhere without my Sony Ericsson phone.  It has my diary in it, plus I can use it to access the internet and find out about local restaurants, hang outs and places to shop.  Don’t forget your phone charger!”

4. “If you’re struggling to keep your packing to a minimum, try to think about what items you’re packing which can have a dual purpose – for example, pink lipstick can be used as a blusher.”

5. “My top beauty product for holidays is sunscreen.  Wherever I am, whether I’m on holiday or just training, I always use Kanebo SPF 30 on my face and Neutrogena 45 on my body.  Pink and peeling skin is never a good look.”

6. “If you’re like me and you want to keep up your exercise whilst travelling, take a jump rope. It is great exercise, tones your legs and (most importantly) is small to pack.”

7. “Learn some key phrases in the local language.  If you make an effort to communicate and smile, people can be really helpful.”

8. “I always go to the salon for all my grooming just before my holiday.  This way I don’t have to worry about looking great and I can just start having fun straightaway.”

9.“New sunglasses are perfect if you’re on a budget but need something to spice up your holiday wardrobe.  A statement pair can bring a whole new angle to your look.”

10. “Pack a great dress – you never know when you might need it for a day out.”
