While the days of Sex and the City have come to an end, the exciting reign of Patricia Field will live on. This Emmy Award winning film and television costume designer, has a wonderful boutique which Patricia always keeps updated with the latest collections from her own clothing label. Moss is owned by former fashion entrepreneur Murray Moss and His Highness used to shop at the original boutique in a small former gallery space in Soho.  This store retails a fabulous selection of furniture, lighting and unique objects.  The Prince bought a few small table top objects upon my resolve to remind him the Crepax Kadhorna cabinet designed by Giuseppe Canevese would not be so easy to carry home on the return journey.

So on with the shopping and over to the Meatpacking District where the Yigal Azrouël boutique can be found. Spaciously laid out with some lovely pieces.  Yigal is an international designer and brand although as yet, surprisingly not found in the UK. Ed Hardy by Christian Audigier is another located just around the corner. This remarkable boutique has a great atmosphere, selling some very stylish street fashion apparel including t shirts, footwear and accessories. The Prince purchased a few items under the pretence they might be suitable “for ones summer holiday”, although I’m sure His Highness had no intention of waiting till such time to wear them.

Finally, we made our way to China Town and Little Italy, both filled with numerous smaller outlets where one can pick up some really kitsch items as well as authentic groceries.  A visit alone for the plethora of aromas is quite fulfilling and with Canal Street running between these areas the Prince enjoyed a brief stroll discovering new pop up shops as well visiting the more time-honoured retailers that still remain of old New York.

With shopping complete and Samuel there to drive us back to the apartment, it seemed sensible for His Highness to have a good rest prior to dinner that night.  A table had been reserved at Club 21 and His Highness was determined to look through the many shopping bags first to find something suitable for the occasion.  Perhaps the new black suit from Prada and the rather nice silver tie I picked out at Yves Saint Laurent?
