‘The indie film of the year’ – Diary of a Teenage Girl.
DOATG tells the story of audacious teenage artist, Minnie (Bel Powley), as she struggles through her teenage years living in 1970’s San Francisco. She has an affair with her mothers 30-something boyfriend; and Minnie’s discovery of teenage lust, sex and her journey towards self-discovery flourishes in this clever and quirky film.
This film also has a great supporting cast of Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood) and Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids)
Directed by Marielle Heller and adapted from an illustrated novel by the writer and artist Phoebe Gloeckner, who based it on her own life.
