You’re either an avid eyelash primer user or you are yet to try it out – because once you start using eyelash primers, you won’t go back. Honestly. It makes the hugest difference to the look of your mascara – giving fuller, longer length – you’ll feel naked without your primer after this..
As well as making your mascara look impeccable; lash primer is good for nourishing and looking after your lashes while you apply mascara daily – like a lot of us do. Mascara is a staple in most of our makeup regimes, the one thing we would reach for if we had to choose one beauty item, so why not protect your lashes along the way?
If you haven’t already now is the time to try out an eyelash primer for yourself and here are a few that we’ve tried out and give the loving stamp of approval to…
MAC Prep + Prime Lash

I find the trick for this one is to put mascara on pretty much straight after you apply this primer – no waiting around for it to fully dry. This enables the formula to coat the lashes evenly, and separate them without going clumpy once you apply your mascara. This primer focuses on soothing and conditioning your lashes as well as adding serious volume and length to your mascara application. I love it.
CODE FFL Lash Plumper

This primer is special with it’s unique brush – targeted to literally catch even the smallest of lashes to coat on instant volume and length. It contains Formula One Fibres within the conditioning cream to give that little bit of extra to your lashes, comfortably. It has a brown tint in tone, so for fair lashes this could serve as a product to use alone – but looks fab under any mascara.
Clinique Lash Primer

This one is for the more natural lash lovers out there. It is a little more subtle with volume, but looks after and protects your lashes. This product builds up definition and is feather-light and soft to apply.
Esteé Lauder Little Black Primer

This one is Krista’s favourite – she uses it religiously, and loves that it is tinted with black rather than white. This enables you to use alone for a subtle tint to your lashes, or with your favourite mascara for extra volume. Krista quotes “The thing I like is that it makes them look thicker, without making them clumpy even though you’re adding on extra product your lashes still look really nice and separate.”
