Fashion designer and daughter of British artist Lucian Freud – Bella Freud launches her new signature fragrance in collaboration with Azzi Glasser, and her latest addition to the Bella Freud Parfum collection.
The hand drawn logo designed by Bella’s father is a nice touch, and we love that it evokes her reminiscing about memories and special times with her family.
Bella Freud evolved her new fragrance on a very personal level, and it truly captures her spirit; ‘Before I was ever seduced by perfume, I loved the smell of Amber. It’s subtle balance between sophistication and intense appeal raises my spirits and calms my nerves. Amber was the only jewellery my mother wore and its golden scent is like an aura that both conceals and reveals.’
We were at the launch of this special perfume this morning – where Bella and her friend Azzi Glasser (who formulated this fragrance), spoke about this captivating perfume and where the inspiration lies. Laura Bailey was there to chat to them both and get the low-down on what inspired them.
Bella described her lack of deviation whilst getting dressed in the morning – expressing that her clothes give her identity and style and she often justh likes to wear the same things. When she sprays her own new perfume she describes that it ‘gels’ with her, and it feels right. It has the familiarity that she feels safe and comfortable with. Azzi then added that this perfume really sums up Bella’s loyal character – how it lingers with you, creating a devoted and recognisable touch.
Amber (which is the main aroma) Azzi described to have a unique reaction to each person that wears it, and how it changes on each individual, so Bella will still keep her individual signature, when we wear it we will have our own slightly different scent.
This fragrance really draws you in on Bella’s nostalgia and tells her story – its warm, seductive notes formulated with rich and earthy Patchouli blended with Tonka Bean and smoky Vetiver. It has added undertones of Olibanum Resin and Incense Musk, with Osmanthus and Ylang to add a tantalizing touch to this unique fragrance. We love it, I’ll be wearing mine on a warm summer evening, it’s sexy and lingers, I will leave my presence in any room I walk into!
Bella Freud Signature Parfum is launching exclusively to Selfridges tomorrow, 4th June.
