I’d heard a lot about this product; very mixed reviews too. I think it is the type of product that you either love or hate. So I gave it a go, and I am firmly on the love side. Here’s why;
Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer is a highly-pigmented cream best used for concealing, highlighting or even an all over foundation. This multi-tasking formula allows for a flawless complexion and is a very thick cream. It was created to mimic the appearance of healthy and radiant skin, whilst providing optional maximum coverage. It contains honey and jojoba oil to create a soft finish, and blend itself into the texture of your skin. I would say depending on how your skin is will determine how matte/dewy it is. It is slightly more on the matte side in my opinion, anyone with drier skin might need to mix this up with a moisturiser.
What appealed to me about this product initially was the coverage, as I like to wear concealer with lots of coverage that doesn’t move. Also, as my skin is slightly oily I am not afraid of matte products. But the more I found out about it and tried it for myself, the more I liked about it. It works really well as a mixing product, because of it’s high pigmentation and formula. For example, if it is mixed in with your moisturiser (depending on the ratio you mix it to) the coverage is very much up to you. So you’re mixing up your own coverage, and that can depend on what you need for the day.
This makes a fantastic blemish or imperfection coverage product for your skin; to achieve a natural and even coating of colour. Fingers, brushes or a sponge all work well with this too – just make sure you blend, blend, blend.
The pot is only little, costing £38 and measuring 18g of product, but believe me when I say you only need the teeniest amount so it does make it worth your money! Seriously, I use it on it’s own and I would say half to a full a grain of rice is more than enough. I know it’ll last me absolutely ages. A little really goes a long way.
Also, because you’re physically not using loads of product it doesn’t end up looking cakey, yet you can achieve full coverage; and that’s the best part.
I set it with a little powder, to make it last, but that part is optional as it does have a lovely finish to it.
