Born in Sweden’s second city of Gothenburg in 1988, Vikander initially dreamed of becoming a ballerina, studying at the Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm before injuries cut her dance career short. She then pursued her acting career and came to the UK… and it’s safe to say she’s nailed it.
Alicia had a breakout year in 2015, with three major roles – a dramatic role as a famous Danish artist, a secret spy and a thrilling artificial intelligence robot – and her list keeps getting bigger. The wild talented actress got the credit she deserved, after winning her first Oscar as best supporting actress in The Danish Girl.
Her impressive list of credits just keeps on coming, Alicia has been announced as Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider, and scored a role in the upcoming Jason Bourne, alongside Matt Damon.
