Kate Winslet is back for another period drama, and looking absolutely divine, in The Dressmaker.

Based on the best-selling novel by Rosalie Ham and set in the 1950’s outback Australia; The Dressmaker is the story of Tilly Dunnage (Winslet) who causes a stir when she returns home from the exclusive world of dressmaking in couture Paris, to her tiny backwater town of Dungatar. Hoping to amend the wrongs of her past, she reconciles with her eccentric mother (Judy Davis) and the oddball townsfolk. It is not long before Tilly is swept off her feet by local hunk Teddy (Liam Hemsworth) but she is overcast by terrible rumours surrounding her. Armed with her sewing machine and incredible talent; she sets out to transform the women of the town and get sweet revenge on those who did her wrong…

Featuring some wonderful costume design and styling set against gorgeous backdrops; The Dressmaker showcases a visual of the post-war era, particularly in the silhouettes of Dior and Balenciaga; corsetry, nipped in waists, draping and rich, luxurious colours.
Take a little sneak at a special behind-the-scenes clip below where Kate Winslet talks about her role Tilly, and get a little insight into the inspiration behind the script..
