The 100 day countdown has officially begun for this summer’s Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio. Time goes fast doesn’t it? It only seems yesterday the Olympic games was held here in London.
To add to the anticipation, Team Great Britain’s kit has been revealed by Adidas; and the attire was drawn up by none other than iconic designer Stella McCartney. Modelled by Olympic gold medal winning athlete Jessica Ennis-Hill and diving sensation Tom Daley previewed the outfits which show a lion on top of a podium holding up the Olympic torch.
Aveda were on hand to create the hair style for the unveiling of the team uniform; with a high-performance sleek ponytail, using their products for ultimate durability.
“We wanted to create a wearable style that complemented the innovative sports technology designs,” said guest Aveda artist Paul Knights. “Our goal was to help the athletes perform better than ever than before with a little assistance from Aveda Thickening Tonic to add the right bulk and grip needed to set the style.”
How to Get the Look:
Step 1: Section hair and spray a generous amount of Aveda Thickening Tonic. Pay particular attention to the hairline and to the roots to add bulk and grip.
Step 2: Comb hair through and blow- dry smooth directing the air flow downwards with tension.
Step 3: Smooth and gather hair backwards into hands and create a low ponytail. Fasten with elastic.
Step 4: Take a small section of hair from underneath the ponytail and wrap around to cover the elastic. Secure with a pin.
Step 5: Lightly mist the finished look with a misting of Aveda Brilliant Spray-On Shine.
