WINTER WARMING Beauty Products

December 18, 2015

By Hannah Powling

Getting warm in the winter just got a whole lot more fun. Let’s be honest, this weather is horrid so what we all need are some comforting things in life to help us recover after a long day, take away the dullness in our skin, even restore ourselves from that nasty cold. Which is why we thought it would be the best idea to introduce some brilliant warming beauty products into your skincare routine. They contain self-heating properties that are a complete comfort as well as being incredible to your skin too.

Instructions: Get home from work, run a long bath or jump in a nice hot shower and try at LEAST one of these out:

The Body Shop

a
The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask, £11

Wet your skin and apply a generous layer of the mineral mask, avoiding your eyes and lips. It really heats up right away, even as you’re rubbing it into your skin on your fingertips, it is the best feeling ever. The warming sensation feels like you’re in a spa having a treatment. Totally the best when you’re in the bath, so you can sit back once applied and enjoy for 5-10 mins. Your face is left feeling clean and revitalized and ready for anything.

Bliss

b
Bliss Hot Salt Scrub, £30.50

If you love a scrub (which I do) you’ll definitely fall for Bliss Hot Salt Scrub. With Eucalyptus and Rosemary to stimulate the senses while you rub this in; the self-heating sea salt gently exfoliated the skin and dissolves slowly with water contact. I like to run this on on the backs of my arms and thighs, to give a super soft feel that lasts. Its fresh herbal smell is a delight; and you feel like your sinuses get a little clean through as well as your skin. My new favourite bath time routine.

Sanctuary Spa

d
Sanctuary Spa Charcoal Wash £9 / 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask £10

Step 1: The Charcoal Wash gives your skin a gentle warming sensation and helps open up your pores. It squeezes out as a velvety oil and lathers as you massage into skin. I like concentrating on areas around the nose and chin to draw out impurities and I sometimes apply some on a cleansing brush (once a week max) to give my skin some extra cleansing, but would not recommend doing this every day as it can irritate skin.

Step 2: The 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask can be used directly after the Charcoal Wash. I like to apply it using my hands using small amounts starting from the centre of the face and massaging outwards. You don’t need to apply a lot to feel the warming sensation of the product, small amounts go a long way.
I love how lovely this feels on the skin and it’s a fantastic way of detoxing and rejuvenating your skin after a long day being exposed to pollution in the City as well as the elements especially at this time of the year.

s
Warming Microbrasion Polish, £11.99

For this, wet your skin first, pop a little onto your fingertips and rub your hands together and get stuck into a good massage. Give yourself a good exfoliation with this, particularly concentrating on your T-zone and areas where you have larger pores. It heats up straight away on contact with the so don’t be alarmed! It’s all part of the opening up your pores to really cleanse them out. Remove with a flannel for a real deep cleanse.

w
Warming Cleansing Butter Balm, £12

Infused with lots of essential oils & natural ingredients, the butter is designed to effortlessly remove make-up, daily grime & impurities. The buttery balm melts into a milk once it comes in contact with water. Lovely to massage into your face before you take it off – and completely nourishing and moisturising too. Would recommend this one for dry skin types, as it is quite greasy ad leaves your skin plumped. It has a mild warming feel; so ideal for anyone who wants a gentle effect on their skin.

7th Heaven

xx
7th Heaven Hot Chocolate Mask, £1

This one is the ultimate for all chocoholics out there. Apart from the fact that you will literally want to eat this up as you’re slathering it over your face; it smells of ridiculously tempting and rich orange chocolate and feels amazing. 7th Heaven masks reminds us of girly sleepovers at our friends houses, they’re a classic brand we know we can rely on. Especially spoilt for choice from their range too. The Hot Chocolate mask heats up on the skin and leaves you feeling clean and super refreshed. One pack is only £1 and lasts for two applications. We love it.
